Bedazzle Projects – 4th Wall

Some students who attended our mainstream Theatre Company in Saffron Walden had been with us for a number of years and were becoming a little more mature for the new incoming younger students, so we set-up a new venture (back in 2010) and opened it up to all abilities.

‘Cranford’ (from the original stage-play by Marguerite Merrington), we were joined by RADA-trained actor/director Gary Turner and Virginia Denham of the RSC. Heidi Thomas (TV’s ‘Cranford’ writer, now on her 7th ‘Call The Midwife’) also joined us for a scriptwriting workshop.

‘Classless’, an angst-ridden story about family breakdown, a musical we produced, created by three of the students who also wrote the original score. We took the cast from concept right through to stage performance at the Jermyn St. Theatre, in London’s West End. Along the way, some of the cast, some of them having joined Bedazzle at the very start in 2006, also took their LAMDA Gold exam, their extract of ‘Chicago’ earned them a top ‘Distinction’. ‘4th Wall’ has now evolved as ‘Bedazzle inclusive Theatre’ (BiT).
